How much does an accountant cost in Canada?

Our flat-rate pricing starts at $199/month for bookkeeping, from $299 for a personal tax return (T1), and from $500 for a corporate tax return (T2). You receive a written quote before any work begins — no hourly surprises. See our pricing page for current plans.

Can an accountant file my taxes completely online in Canada?

Yes — your taxes can be filed completely online in Canada. You upload documents through a secure client portal, we prepare the return, you review it, and we e-file directly with the CRA using EFILE/NETFILE-certified methods. See our personal tax return service. Source: canada.ca (CRA) — EFILE program.

What is the Client Portal?

The Client Portal is your secure personal dashboard where you can upload documents, track the status of your service requests, and message your accounting team directly — all in one place.

Do you handle GST/HST registration and filing?

Yes. We handle GST/HST registration, quarterly and annual filing, and remittances in every province and territory. Most businesses must register once their worldwide taxable revenues exceed $30,000 in a single calendar quarter or over four consecutive quarters. See our GST/HST filing service. How long does it take to complete a tax return?

Most personal tax returns are completed within 3–5 business days after we receive all required documents. Corporate returns may take 1–2 weeks depending on complexity.

Is my financial information secure?

Yes. We use bank-grade encryption and secure document storage. Your data is never shared with third parties, and all communications happen through our encrypted Client Portal.

Who needs to file a T2 corporate tax return in Canada?

Every resident corporation in Canada must file a T2 return each tax year — including dormant and non-profit corporations, even with no income. Non-resident corporations that carried on business in Canada or disposed of taxable Canadian property must also file. See our T2 corporate tax return guide. Source: canada.ca (CRA) — Corporation income tax return (T2).

When is a T2 corporate tax return due?

A T2 corporate tax return is due within six months after the end of the corporation's tax year. The balance of tax owing is due two months after year end, or three months for a Canadian-controlled private corporation claiming the small business deduction with taxable income of $500,000 or less. What documents are needed for a T1 personal tax return?

A T1 personal return typically needs your T4 (employment), T4A and T5 slips, RRSP receipts, and receipts for medical, donation, childcare or home-office expenses. Self-employed filers should add business income and expense records. We provide a personalized checklist in your client portal. Source: canada.ca (CRA) — Personal income tax.

How does online bookkeeping work?

Your bank and credit card transactions are imported or uploaded each month, categorized, and reconciled against your statements. You receive monthly financial statements, and the clean books feed your GST/HST, payroll and year-end tax filings. Records are retained securely as the CRA requires — generally six years. See our online bookkeeping services.

Can a Canadian accountant help with US taxes?

Yes, for cross-border situations: US citizens and green-card holders living in Canada, Canadians with US rental or business income (filed on Form 1040-NR), and FBAR reporting for foreign financial accounts. The Canada–US tax treaty helps prevent double taxation. See our US tax services. Sources: IRS — International taxpayers; canada.ca (CRA).
